Course Title: S-212: Wildfire Powersaws
Course Description: The purpose of this course is to train students in the use of power saws and techniques in order to ultimately prepare them to meet their functional role as a power saw operator on an incident. The class will cover the duties and responsibilities of the power saw operator: parts and maintenance of the chain saw; application; safety and evaluations.

Location:  Ben Lomond Training Center, 13575 Empire Grade Rd., Santa Cruz
Target Audience: CAL FIRE/County Fire Personnel. Due to the high demand for this class, all approved TR-7s should be considered pending until the final class roster is posted 3 weeks prior to the beginning of the class. Student priority will be based on Unit need.
Cost: Free to CZU San Mateo-Santa Cruz County Fire Personnel, Volunteers, Reserves, and PCFs.
Pre-Requisites: Volunteers must have Safety & Orientation.
Class Size: Minimum 10 - Maximum 25
Meals: Lunch will NOT be provided. Due to the remote location of the Training Center, it is advised that
you bring a bag lunch.
Attire: Attire will be appropriate for "hands-on" work and in a state of good repair. No shorts, tank tops,
sandals, etc., will be allowed. Wildland and Structure PPE are required.
