Course Title: Low Angle Rope Rescue Operational
Course Description:

This 3 day FSTEPcourse is designed to equip the student with the techniques and methods for using rope, webbing, hardware friction devices, and litters in low angle rescue situations. Areas covered include: Rope and related equipment, anchor systems, safety lines, stretcher lashing and rigging, mechanical advantage systems and single line and two line rescue systems.

Target Audience: CDF/County Fire Personnel
Cost: Free to CZU San Mateo-Santa Cruz County Fire Personnel, Volunteers, Reserves, and PCFs.
Pre-Requisites: None
Class Size: Minimum 9-Maximum 16
Meals: Lunch will NOT be provided.
Attire: Personnel shall meet with CDF required grooming standards. Dress for the class will be work attire, which is appropriate for public contact and in a state of good repair. No shorts, tank tops, sandals, etc., will be allowed. Wildland PPE required.

STUDENT DETAILS:

Please make sure you have your Wildland PPE with you for the class. This would include a helmet (with chin strap), boots, gloves (if you have them, bring gloves with better dexterity than our issued wildland or structure gloves), wildland Nomex, safety glasses/goggles, and headlamp. It might be a good idea to bring some fleece too in case it gets cold or wet. Also, bring plenty of water and  bring a lunch.

Generally, we expect a variety of different experience levels when we do this class. As such those of you that might be on the steeper part of the learning curve can prep in advance by learning some of the knots we will be using. They are:
